| Over the years
Davies & Tate have been
involved with many activities in the local
community. Perhaps the best-known
of these is the annual Davies & Tate golf
tournament – The Davies & Tate Inter-Club
Matchplay Championship (now more
commonly referred to simply as
‘The Davies &Tate’).
The format of ‘The Davies & Tate’ sees the
best eight amateur players, from Clubs
across the County, playing in an un-seeded
Ryder Cup-style competition.
Since Davies & Tate first became involved in 1990,
the competition has grown from 26 to 54 participating
Clubs and is now seen as the biggest amateur golf
tournament in Sussex.
